No single carrier is best at everything. We allocate each parcel to the service that fits its size, destination and urgency — on your accounts, ours, or a mix.
Multi-carrier parcel services means despatching through several carrier networks rather than one, and choosing the right network for each individual parcel. WSUK manages this from the Midlands Golden Triangle for eCommerce and B2B clients across the UK. We despatch on your own negotiated carrier accounts, on ours, or on a mix — selecting per consignment by size, weight, destination, service level and cost, while keeping a single point of accountability so you are not refereeing between suppliers when something goes wrong.
Every carrier network has a shape. One is excellent on lightweight parcels to urban postcodes and expensive on anything heavy. Another handles bulky items well and is slow to the Highlands. A third is strong internationally and unremarkable domestically.
Committing everything to one of them means accepting their weaknesses on every parcel that does not suit them. That shows up as surcharges on awkward sizes, poor service to particular regions, and a rate card that looks competitive on your average parcel and is poor on half of them.
Multi-carrier despatch treats the decision as per-parcel rather than per-supplier. The consequence of doing that badly, though, is fragmentation — several portals, several invoices, and nobody accountable when a parcel disappears. The point of running it through one operation is to get the allocation benefit without the administrative mess.
Allocation, accountability and the admin nobody wants.
Each consignment assigned to the network that suits its shape and destination, rather than everything defaulting to one account.
We despatch on your negotiated rates where they are good and on ours where they are not, with no obligation to move contracts.
One place to raise a problem, one reconciled view of every consignment, and claims handled with the scan evidence to support them.
The wider your product range and delivery footprint, the more a single carrier costs you.
Four steps from packed parcel to the right network.
We set the allocation rules with you — which carrier for which weight band, destination and service level, and where your own accounts take priority.
Once packed, the parcel’s real dimensions and weight determine which service it qualifies for, rather than an assumption made when the order was placed.
The correct carrier label is produced at the bench and the consignment added to that carrier’s manifest for the evening collection.
Tracking from every network flows back to the single order record, so your team never needs to know which carrier carried what.
Clients usually expect the saving to come from better rates. More often it comes from two less obvious places.
The first is packaging. Volumetric charging means carriers bill on the space a parcel occupies, not its weight. Right-sizing boxes at the pick and pack stage frequently takes more off a parcel bill than a rate negotiation does, and it costs nothing but discipline.
The second is stopping the wrong parcels going on the wrong service — bulky items on a network that surcharges them, or next-day service paid for on orders where the customer chose economy. Both are invisible until someone looks per parcel rather than per month.
Where a consignment is genuinely too big for a parcel network at all, it moves to pallet delivery instead, which is usually the largest single saving available.
Being on the M1/M6 corridor means the major carrier networks all collect from us, and they collect late. That is what makes genuine per-parcel allocation practical — in a less central location you are limited to whichever carriers find it economic to call, and the choice narrows to whoever turns up. Here, Northampton, Rugby, Daventry, Crick, Lutterworth and Leicester sit within the national sortation footprint and the options stay open.
Carrier management sits underneath every despatch service we run.

We provide multi-carrier parcel services to businesses in these towns and cities from our Golden Triangle warehouse.
Send us a month of despatch data with parcel dimensions. We will show you where parcels are on the wrong service and what that is costing.
