Packaging services cover everything between deciding what a product should travel in and having that material arrive, in the right quantity, at the place where it is used. In most businesses this is not a managed function. Packaging gets bought by whoever is nearest when something runs out, from whoever answered last time, in sizes that were chosen years ago for a product that has since changed. The visible cost is the unit price of a box, which is almost always the smallest number involved.
