The quick answer

WSUK handles retail fulfilment from a Golden Triangle warehouse: replenishment into a retailer’s distribution centre or direct to store, shelf-ready and display-ready packaging, SSCC and buyer-spec labelling, ASN messaging, and delivery booked into the agreed window with POD returned. Pallets built and wrapped from £12.50, case picks from £1.00 plus £0.35 processing. For trade and distributor buying patterns rather than retail compliance, see wholesale fulfilment.

What We Offer

Getting Stock Onto a Shelf, Not Just Into a Building

Retail deliveries are judged on whether they can go straight to the shop floor and whether the paperwork was right. Both are decided before the vehicle leaves.

Store-Ready & Shelf-Ready

Packed so the store colleague can put it out without unpacking and repacking — shelf-ready trays, display units and correctly faced outers.

  • Shelf-ready packaging
  • Display and POS units
  • Correct facing and case counts

RDC or Direct-to-Store

Bulk replenishment into a retailer’s distribution centre, or smaller consolidated drops direct to individual stores, depending on the account.

  • RDC pallet replenishment
  • Direct-to-store consolidated drops
  • Store-level order picking

Compliance That Stops Deductions

SSCC and buyer-spec labels, ASN messaging and booked delivery windows — the three things retail chargebacks almost always come from.

  • SSCC & buyer-spec labelling
  • ASN / despatch advice
  • Booked windows, POD per drop
Why WSUK

Retail Margin Is Lost After the Sale Is Won

Suppliers negotiate hard on price and then hand the difference back in deductions for labelling, paperwork and missed windows. All three are process problems.

  • Chargebacks Designed Out Label format, ASN and booking handled as standard, which removes the three most common deduction reasons.
  • Shelf-Ready Means Accepted Packs built so stores can merchandise straight from the outer — which is increasingly what the buyer specifies.
  • Store or RDC, Same Stock Bulk into a distribution centre and smaller direct-to-store drops from the same pool and the same despatch schedule.
  • Evidence When Challenged POD per drop and retained despatch records, so a deduction can be contested with facts rather than recollection.
  • Promotions Handled Seasonal and promotional packs built ahead of the launch by our co-packing team rather than during the rush.
  • Scales With the Listing Going from a regional trial to a national listing is absorbed on the same rate card.

The Process

How Retail Fulfilment Works

From purchase order to stock on a shelf.

1

The PO Arrives

Retail purchase orders come in by EDI or portal and are checked against available stock, with shortfalls flagged before picking rather than after.

2

Picked, Packed and Made Compliant

Picked to store or RDC level, packed shelf-ready where required, palletised, SSCC-labelled and the ASN raised.

3

Booked and Delivered

The slot is booked through the retailer’s portal, the vehicle routed to arrive inside it, and POD returned against every drop.

Transparent Pricing

What Is Retail Fulfilment?

Retail fulfilment is supplying stock into a retailer — either in bulk to their distribution centre for onward allocation, or in smaller quantities direct to individual stores. What makes it distinct from other trade fulfilment is that the retailer sets the rules and enforces them financially. There will be a compliance manual specifying how cases are labelled, what an SSCC pallet label must carry, which electronic messages are expected and when, which portal the delivery is booked through, and how wide the arrival window is. Increasingly it also specifies the packaging itself: shelf-ready trays and display outers that a store colleague can put straight onto the shelf without unpacking. Miss any of it and a deduction follows, regardless of whether the stock was correct and on time. Suppliers routinely negotiate hard on price and then hand the difference back in chargebacks. WSUK runs retail fulfilment as a compliance operation — shelf-ready packing, SSCC and buyer-spec labelling, ASN messaging, booked windows and POD per drop — from the same stock that serves your wholesale and consumer channels.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about retail fulfilment at WSUK.

How is retail fulfilment different from B2B or wholesale fulfilment?

They share a warehouse and differ in emphasis. Wholesale fulfilment is shaped around distributor buying — MOQs, case multiples, consolidation. B2B fulfilment is the general trade operation. This page focuses on supplying retailers specifically: shelf-ready packaging, RDC and store replenishment, and the compliance that decides whether you get deducted.

Can you deliver direct to individual stores?

Yes — store-level picking and consolidated direct-to-store drops, as well as bulk pallet replenishment into an RDC. Many accounts need both, and they run from the same stock and despatch schedule.

Do you handle shelf-ready packaging?

Yes — shelf-ready trays, display outers and POS units, built and filled to the retailer’s specification so the pack can go straight to the shop floor.

How do you avoid retail chargebacks?

By treating the compliance manual as the specification. Label format, ASN messaging and the booked delivery window account for the overwhelming majority of deductions, and all three are handled as standard rather than as extras.

What does retail fulfilment cost?

Store-level picks from £1.00 plus £0.35 processing, pallets built, wrapped and labelled from £12.50 with £3.50 wrap and band, storage from £4.50 per pallet per week. Booked deliveries are quoted per drop.

Who books the delivery slot?

We do, through the retailer’s own portal, and we route the vehicle to arrive inside the window. POD comes back against the order so a deduction can be contested with evidence.

Can you build promotional and seasonal packs?

Yes — built ahead of the launch date by our co-packing team, barcoded as their own SKU and despatched into the retailer as a normal line.

Do you support EDI?

Yes — standard EDI messaging plus CSV and portal ordering, from £150 per week covering your trading partners rather than charged per connection.

How quickly can you onboard a new retail listing?

Typically 7–10 working days from receiving the compliance manual — label setup, messaging configuration and a test despatch before the first live order.

Is stock insured?

Yes — Goods-in-Trust cover in a CCTV-monitored, alarmed warehouse, CMR / RHA in transit.
